EGGS

Our laying hens (chickens and ducks) are producers of brown, "Easter" (pastel colored) and white eggs which offer a nice variety for discerning tastes.

The Speckled Sussex, Columbian Wyandottes and White Wyandottes, Brown Leghorn and Silver Spangled Hamburgs we added previously, this season brings in Light Brahmas which are heavy, hardy layers of brown eggs. Every other season I try to find chicks to replace our oldsters which are more ideally suited to our "odd-ball" weather here in North Idaho and are also consistently good layers preferably year round.  So far I think there are very few breeds we haven't vetted here at Mountain Glen Farm.

Our duck flock currently consists of Rouens (domestic Mallards), Buffs and Gold Star hybrids, all excellent layers!

All are free range, with a warm hen house at night, and a vegetarian based grain supplemented for good health, nutrition and flavorful eggs.

NEW HATCHLING RAISING SERVICE

Do You Want Farm-Fresh Eggs from your own Laying Hens but Don’t Want or Have the Time/Energy to raise them from Hatchlings?

Mountain Glen Farm will hand-raise your chicks (pullet hens, guinea fowl, turkeys, roasters, ducklings) for you to farm-fresh free range egg production for a one-off fee at the outset.

From hatchling to feathering-out (8-10 weeks) or to fully mature laying hen (age 20-22 weeks) – you decide at which stage you will be ready to populate your coop or hen house.

You choose your breed(s) of chick and quantity or Mountain Glen can select or recommend reliable, consistently productive laying breeds for you.

Mountain Glen Farm will also provide all the TLC needed to raise healthy happy, productive birds in temperature-controlled brooders and private coops.

You provide feed or Mountain Glen Farm can provide (and will invoice separately).  Mountain Glen Farm provides Purina feeds to their livestock:
